PayPal Problem Partially Solved

Paypal due to  conflict with the Reserve Bank of India, had to disable personal payment transfer and money withdrawal on Indian Accounts.  For more than a month everyone using Paypal had to hold their withdrawal and transfer. However today PayPal has solved one of the two issues. Now you can withdraw money from your Paypal account but the personal transfer has still been disabled. However its expected to continue the Personal transfer very soon.

PayPal introduces the “Export Code“  for each of its customers starting from now. Below is the message from the PayPal Blog.

“Dear Ram Kumar,

We have been diligently working with the RBI and our business partners to resume Indian bank withdrawals for the thousands of Indian businesses who depend on PayPal to sell their goods or services in the global marketplace. Today, we are happy to announce that the RBI has allowed us to continue local bank  withdrawals for settlements for exports of goods and services. We are currently making changes to comply with Indian regulations for settlements for exports of goods and services, and we anticipate that, as of Wednesday, March 3rd, customers will be able to use our bank withdrawal service. As part of the changes, you will be required to fill out a new field entitled ‘Export Code’ when you request a withdrawal. This information is required under the current laws of India in order to identify the nature of cross-border merchant transactions.

On Monday, March 1st, we will be back in touch with specific instructions on how you can move  your money into your bank account. Moving forward, the RBI has told us that PayPal needs specific approvals to allow personal remittances to India, which we currently do not have. Until we get these approvals, personal payments into India will remain suspended. However, if you are an exporter, you will continue to be able to use the PayPal service for payments of goods and services. In fact, with the changes we are making to our system, PayPal is now set to be a more powerful engine for exporters in India. With purpose codes for export transactions and FIRCs (Foreign Inward Remittance Certificates), you should now be able  to get the export related benefits you seek. You can check the PayPal blog for additional updates.

We thank you for your business and for your patience during the past few weeks.

Sincerely,

PayPal

Buyer’s Guide for HOME THEATRE PROJECTORS

Home Theatres what was once thought to be the product for the richer, has now turned out to be an affordable product for everyone. But many would face the problem of choosing the right Home Theatre to buy. This are the guidelines that must be followed while buying a home theatre projector.

Decide on Technology of the Projector

HOME THEATRE PROJECTORS use liquid crystal display (LCD) or digital light processing (DLP) technology to process light and display an image.  So what should you buy, check out about them.

LCD projectors: Turn down the lights and deliver a presentation with vibrant colour and sharp, detailed data. It pass light through three small LCD panels, creating bright images appropriate for dimly-lit rooms and auditoriums.

DLP projectors: uses a single digital chip that makes them weigh less than LCD projectors. They offer smooth video performance, high contrast ratios, and little pixilation—perfect for home theatre use

Best Guide to buy Projector

Projector Specifications

Projector resolution

Projector resolution is the number of pixels produced by a home theatre projector. Expressed as two numbers, the first number indicates horizontal pixels and the second number represents vertical pixels. For example, 800×600 and 1024×768. The higher the resolution, the sharper the image. But be cautious, because more the resolution more the price .

Projector Image brightness

Brightness, or light output, measured in American National Standards Institute (ANSI) lumens, determines how well you’ll see projected images in a well-lit room. More lumens produce a bigger, brighter image. Home theatre projectors generally have 700 to 2,500 lumens, perfect for dimly-lit or dark rooms. Look for a higher lumen count if you plan to use your projector in a room filled with sunlight. Please do not buy a projector with less than 700 lumes, else you will end up watching it in a room with no other light.

Projector Contrast ratio

Video projectors measure the difference between the brightest and darkest sections of an image with a ratio. For example, 600:1 or 2,220:1. Projectors with higher contrast ratios produce the most well-defined pictures.

Projector weight

Home theater projectors can weigh less than 7 pounds or as much as 20 pounds. Look for a lightweight projector if you want to use your projector outside your home. This factor though doesn’t affect the quality of the picture, its always better to get a light weighted one.

Decide on viewing screen

Retractable projector screens

Mount your retractable projector screen from the ceiling and roll it out when you want to use your projector.

Free-standing projector screens

Bring out your free standing projector screen when you need it.

How to reset Trial period in Softwares

Many Software use  third party software like Sentinel or Win License for protection and licensing. These protectors will have functionality for trial periods also. Using this, many software gives 15 or 30days trial period after installation like Kaspersky. However there are software that can reset the trial period of such software. As you all know, the protection software will store the trial details in the Windows Registry. Finding and Decrypting the registry values is almost close to impossible when manually done. But a Software called “Trial Reset” can do this job for you. The software is free and it can effectively clear trial period of almost any protection.

This is how Trail Reset works

  • The host software will create registry keys, which contains the encrypted keys and details like trial date, system ID etc.
  • The registry cannot be found out manually, not it can be edited.
  • Trial Reset software will first locate the protection registry key
  • You can clear the key contents, and this will refresh the trial period

List of supported protectors

Protectors, ACProtect, ActiveMark, Armadillo, ASProtect, DBPE, EncryptPE, Enigma, ExeCryptor, ExeShield, eXPressor, ICE License, NoCopy, Obsidium, OneWay, Orien, PCGuard, ProtectionPlus, ProtectShareware, SafeSerial, SDProtector, Sheriff, SGLicense, ShareGuard, SoftLocx, SoftSentry, SoftWrap, STProtector,SVKP,Thinstall, VBOLock, VBox, VisualProtect, WinLicense, Xheo Licensing, XProtector and ZipWorx.

Find your friends gmail password

I have quoted in one of my old article that gtalk has a serious security issue, which has not been rectified till now. Using this flaw we can login into a friends’ gmail account without knowing their password.

Gtalk stores its account information in the Windows Registry, that too in text format. Everything in it except the password in unencrypted.

I wonder how Google considers this as a safety measure. Though we cannot view the password directly from Windows registry, we can use the encrypted password to login to gtalk or gmail, even without knowing the actual password.

Here is the step by step guide to get an encrypted password from another computer and use it to login in your computer.

Note: You need to have access to the other computer to get the encrypted text, however if you are good in programming, you can use your skills in making a bot which can retrieve the encrypted passwords and mail to your inbox. Also you can access their encrypted password, if the user has chosen to remember his password atleast once during sign in.

In friend’s System

  1. Open “Run” windows, this can be done by clicking on “Start menu” or pressing “Window Key + R”.
  2. Type “regedit” and Click on “OK”

Run window

Run window

  1. This will open the Windows Registry Editor.
  2. Select the Hive HKEY_CURRENT_USER.

corel015 Find your friends gmail password

  1. Then under that select HKEY_CURRENT_USER -> Software -> Google -> Google Talk -> Accounts
  2. This will list the accounts he that person the logged in with his computer.
  3. Open the account you want to get password, in my case I have selected rkdperil@gmail.com
  4. In the right panel you can see the Field “pw” , this contains the encrypted password of that gmail account.

corel016 Find your friends gmail password

Copy the string in "pw" field

  1. This encrypted password is independent of the computer used.
  2. So this password can be copied to some other computer and we can login through this.

In Your System

  1. Open Gtalk, in the login form , type your friend’s id and some temporary password and select “ Remember Password“
  2. Click on Sign in button, the login will fail.
  3. Now open your Windows Registry and goto the gtalk account information folder (HKEY_CURRENT_USER -> Software -> Google -> Google Talk -> Accounts)
  4. Locate your friend’s email id there, select it. You double click the “pw” field can see some random value.
  5. Now replace it with the encrypted password you got from your friend’s computer and paste it here.
  6. Download a gTalk password recovery software, there are lots of such tool available.
  7. Run the recovery program and it will successfully decrypt you friend’s password.
  8. That’s it. You are done.

Hope you make the most out of this within Google solves this vulnerability.

Nokia N900 Linux smartphone

Review Once the unequalled leader among mobile phone manufacturers, Nokia still returns impressive sales, but ceded its dominance of the smartphone market with the arrival of the iPhone. It's been playing catch-up ever since, sticking rigidly to a Symbian OS that only seemed to grow older looking with each new device.

Symbian successor? Nokia's N900

Now, with the N900, Nokia is trying something new, with a brand new OS in Maemo 5 – a slimmed down version of Debian Linux – plus a host of top-end features, including a sizeable 3.5in touch screen, slide-out Qwerty keyboard, 5Mp camera with Carl Zeiss optics, Wi-Fi, A-GPS, quad-band and much more besides.

We were torn on the appearance of the N900. We like its glossy black minimalism, with no hard buttons on the face to break up its smooth lines. But it's a chunky chappy and a very solid pocketful at 111x60x20mm and 181g – svelte it is not.

Around the sides are a volume rocker, power key, shutter button and a rare example of an infrared port. Top and bottom features a brace of stereo speakers, micro USB power/sync port, a lock switch, 3.5mm headphone jack and a plastic stylus. The back hides the camera lens behind a sturdy sliding cover, which is surrounded by a fold-down kickstand for viewing video.

The slide-out Qwerty keyboard alarmed us at first, since it only has three lines of keys. A quick comparison with the Nokia E75's four-line keyboard, however, confirmed that it only appears to have lost one key. There are 38 keys in all and, although they're very small, they’re actually surprisingly easy to use.

Video viewing made easy thanks to the rear prop stand

The rubberized plastic keys have raised bumps that are easy to distinguish under the thumbs and the amount of feedback they deliver is just right to help you with fast, reasonably accurate typing. There's a control key too that delivers access to standard keyboard shortcuts, like cut and paste.

Samsung Omnia Pro GT-B7610

Review Samsung clearly has high hopes for its latest round of Windows Mobile-powered Omnia smartphones. The Omnia II was a significant improvement over last year's original, due in no small part to Windows Mobile 6.5, which offers a big leap in usability over previous editions of WinMo. The Omnia Pro maintains a high level of functionality, with an eye on business customers.

Split personality: Samsung's Omnia Pro

With a 5Mp camera, HSDPA 3G, Wi-Fi, A-GPS and Samsung's TouchWiz interface, the Omnia Pro also features a slide-out Qwerty keyboard and an alternative interface. At 113 x 58 x 17mm and 165g, the Omnia Pro is considerably chunkier than the Omnia II, which measured up at 118 x 60 x 12 and 129g. The Pro’s additional girth and weight is offset a little by reduced length and width, making it not seem like quite the brick it might have been.

The screen has shrunk a little from 3.7in to 3.5in and beneath it are call start and stop buttons flanking an outsize menu button that forms the shape of a smile – this is meant to be the fun face of business. Above it are a VGA camera for video calls and a light sensor, while round the sides are screen lock and camera shutter buttons, a volume rocker and a button labelled 'W&L'.

This button allows you to flip between 'Work' and 'Life' modes, so you can set up different profiles to suit your moods and interests depending on whether you're enduring the daily grind or ready for fun. At the top there's a micro USB power/sync socket and a 3.5mm headphone socket, both of which are covered by plastic grommets. At the back is the camera lens, slightly inset into the casing, with dual LED flash.

The display is a 3.5in AMOLED LCD model offering 480 x 800-pixel resolution and 16 million colours. It's pin-sharp, clear and distinct, but it's let down a little by being resistive rather than capacitive, so it's not as sensitive as it might have been. Indeed, there are times, particularly towards the edges, when you'll need more than one press to make your presence felt.

Two faced: Work and Life menus

Our concerns were further raised by the inclusion of a stylus in a slot at the side – metal, telescopic, since you ask – something that's fast becoming an endangered species as manufacturers move steadily towards finger-friendly interfaces. Thankfully, there wasn't much need for it, as both Windows 6.5 and Samsung's neatly integrated TouchWiz interface, with its selection of onscreen widgets, feature good-sized, thumb-friendly controls.
